FAQ: How can I dispense material from a 5-gallon pail more easily?

A:

      1.  Be sure to read technical bulletin for each Smooth-On product.  Some materials require pre-mixing before using.

2.  While the container is upright, remove protective cover and cap from the Reike spout with a screwdriver.  Pull to remove the plastic seal inside the spout.

3.  On a level table, place the 5 gallon container on its side.  Make certain that the pour spout is closest to the ceiling  (12 o’clock position).

4.  Slowly roll the 5-gallon container so that the material begins to flow out of the container in a slow and uniform stream.  This will help eliminate air being introduced into the mixture and prevent spillage.

Note:  Dispensing the material with the spout located at the bottom (6 o’clock position), the material will flow out of the container very quickly and erratically, resulting in spills.

Remove protective cover and cap from the pour
spout with a screwdriver.
Pull the flexible spout of
the container and . . .
Remove the protective seal
SCREW THE CAP BACK ON THE SPOUT SECURELY and put the container on a table with the spout in the upper  position. Carefully remove the cap. Have a container ready when you remove the cap.  Material will flow out immediately. Roll the container to a side
to allow liquid to flow into
your measuring container.
