A High-Impact Addition To The TASK™ Line
Of Performance Liquid Plastics . . .
Introducing Indestructible TASK™ 12
|
|
Task™ 12 is the newest addition to our line of performance tooling
resins. The TASK™ series of casting resins has better performance properties
than general purpose casting resins (such as our popular Smooth-Cast™ series).
TASK™ 12 is the
toughest semi-rigid plastic available anywhere,
and is highly resistant to impact and physical shock. Unlike competing
products in its class, TASK™ 12 contains no MOCA (which is a known
carcinogen).
Like our Crystal Clear™ series, TASK™ 12 is an aliphatic resin, which means that proper ventilaton and/or breathing protection is especially
important when using this product. New silicone
molds must be post cured prior to use with any aliphatic to prevent
inhibition.

A simple, yet
effective
prototyping combination.
TASK™ 12
cast into OOMOO™ 30 silicone rubber to make
an
indestructible mechanical part.

Mixed 100A:44B
by weight, TASK™ 12 has a pot life of 20

minutes and cures in 16
hours. This resin is a clear amber which makes it
ideal for pigmenting or color matching. Like most urethane casting resins,
post curing will give better physical and performance properties.
One Tough Resin - TASK™ 12 has been
successfully tested at some prominent prototyping accounts, including Moen
(faucet fixtures). It has also been used by one of the world’s more famous
furniture designers, Pesce, Ltd. (New York City) to make impact
resistant furniture components. Designers that use TASK™ 12 call it
“virtually indestructible.”

Lower Cost Additions To The TASK
Line:
Introducing TASK™ 5 & TASK™ 6
|
|
We introduced C-1504 and
C-1506 in the late 70’s as low viscosity tooling resins and still sell signifcant quantities
today. Our largest customer currently uses C-1506 for a marine/military
application as an underwater holding fixture. Both are still consistent
performers, and many customers who began with these resins have been so
satisfied that they refuse to switch to anything else.
We’re carrying them both into the 21st century by re-launching them as TASK™ 5 (formerly C-1504) and TASK™ 6 (formerly C-1506).
Both cure to a Shore 80D and have good physical properties. They are slightly filled and
have a higher viscosity vs. other TASK™ or Smooth-Cast™ products, but they do have moisture scavengers and
are less susceptible to moisture (humidity) contamination than unfilled
resins. The main difference between the two:
TASK™
5 (formerly
C-1504): 3 minute pot life and 15 minute demold.
TASK™ 6 (formerly C-1506): 7 minute pot
life and 75 minute demold.
Less expensive
than other Shore 80D tooling resins - TASK 5 & 6 are at least 20% less expensive
than other TASK™
resins and are proven performers for many many tooling
applications. So, next time you find your project a little short on cash,
consider TASK 5 or 6.
