The
Best News About Urethane Mold Rubber To Come Along in Years
Smooth-On announces an exciting new direction in urethane mold
rubber technology and is pleased to introduce the Evergreen
Series. The Evergreen Series is unique in that they contain no
free isocyanate, TDI, MDI, MOCA or Mercury.
Evergreen mold rubbers offer convenient by-volume mix ratios
and cure with negligible shrinkage. They feature very low
viscosities and require no vacuum de-gassing.
Compared to conventional urethane rubbers, the Evergreen Series
exhibits superior release properties when casting polyester,
urethane and other types of resins. Weve also heard very good
things from plaster and concrete casters. The Evergreen rubbers
are not currently recommended for wax casting.
These rubbers exhibit good physical properties, and preliminary
findings indicate that Evergreen rubbers can be poured against
already cured Evergreen rubber without delamination.
These mold rubbers are suitable for a variety of applications
including making molds to reproduce sculpture and architectural elements, as well as for making prototypes,
special effects, toys, etc.
The Evergreen Series rubbers are slightly more expensive than conventional urethane rubbers, but are considerably less than
silicone rubbers.
The Evergreen Series is available in Shore A hardnesses of 10, 20,
30, 40, 50 & 60.
